President Trump Sending 2,000 North Carolina Troops To Border As Part of ‘Operation Faithful Patriot’

The Pentagon just released the complete list of units now en-route to our southern border as part of “Operation Faithful Patriot”. An estimated 5,500-6,500 troops are being sent from 14 bases across our nation – the largest number, roughly 2,000 troops, is coming from North Carolina’s Fort Bragg.

The deployment was ordered by President Trump to help assist the border patrol with a caravan of Central American refugees currently walking toward the US-Mexican border to seek political asylum.

The president has been very vocal about the potential threat of the caravan, tweeting that he thinks the group potentially contains terrorists, gang members and other threats;

North Carolina’s Fort Bragg will be sending about 2,000 soldiers (exact troop numbers have not been released) to our southern border as part of ‘Operation Faithful Patriot’, including the following units (troop number estimates are based on our research);

  • Headquarters & Headquarters Command, 3rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command
    • ~ 300 soldiers
  • 2nd Assault Helicopter Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division
    • ~ 100 soldiers
  • Headquarters & Headquarters Company, 16th Military Police Brigade
    • ~ 125 soldiers
  • 51st Medical Company, 28th Combat Support Hospital
    • ~ 100 soldiers
  • 172nd Preventive Medicine
    • ~ 50 soldiers
  • 264th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion
    • ~ 1,000 soldiers
  • 329th Movement Control Team
    •  ~ 50 soldiers
  • 403rd Inland Cargo Transfer Company
    • ~ 125 soldiers
  • Headquarters & Headquarters Detachment, 503rd Military Police Battalion
    • ~ 150 soldiers

In addition to the troops from Fort Bragg, ‘Operation Faithful Patriot’ will also consist of the following units from 13 other military installations across our nation (totaling an estimate of 3,500-4,500 more troops):
