Carolina Panthers star running back, receiver, and one-man-offense Christian McCaffrey is about to miss the first game of his career, according to an official press release from the team.
Yesterday, head coach Matt Rhule announced that McCaffrey will likely be out multiple games due to a high ankle sprain, an injury he suffered during his second touchdown of this past weekend’s game against the bucks.
“I hate it for him. No one wants to be out there and play more than Christian does, but everything happens for a reason,” Rhule said. “I’m sure he’ll rehab. I’m sure he’s rehabbing right now. I talked to him earlier today and he’ll get back as soon as he can.”

This past Sunday was McCaffrey’s 50th game of his career. Mike Davis will likely replace McCaffrey until he is able to return.
