Hanley House, North Carolina’s Teen, was crowned Miss America’s Teen as part of the Miss America competition this weekend in at the Walt Disney Theater in Orlando, which is part of the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Miss America’s Teen – the teen division of the Miss America program for young women ages 13-18 – included 51 contestants from across the United States competing in fitness, evening gown and talent. House won both evening gown and fitness preliminary competitions, garnering $6,000 in scholarships ahead of the pageant’s final.
Founded in 2005 as Miss America’s Outstanding Teen, the teen competition has shortened its name this year. The court included first runner up, Ohio, second runner up, Oklahoma, third runner up, Texas, and fourth runner up, Kentucky.
Judges for the final competition included Cynthia Bailey, David Tutera, Terrence J., and Ambassador Nancy G. Brinker, amongst others. Hanley was crowned by Morgan Greco, Miss America’s Teen 2023, of Washington State.
As part of the prize package, House will receive a $60,000 scholarship or a 4-year scholarship to the University of Alabama. All runners up will receive a $10,000 scholarship.
About Hanley House
Born in Raleigh, NC, Hanley House is the 18th Miss North Carolina’s Teen. A thirteen-year competitive dancer, Hanley has earned national awards and studied ballet programs throughout the country, including Alonzo King Lines Ballet in San Francisco as well as Joffrey Ballet School in New York City. Hanley started her own vinyl design business at age twelve, inspiring her to create her community service initiative “Passion to Profit” – empowering young entrepreneurs and building real-world skills. Through her business, she has been able to donate more than $1,000 to the American Heart Association. She is a student at Cleveland High School and plans to further her education by studying architecture and design while performing on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill “Carolina Girls” dance team.
