North Carolina’s Summer Nutrition Programs are now set to provide over 900,000 students with free nutritious meals and snacks when school is out, with the aim to serve students up to 18 years old in economically distressed areas.

Administered by the N.C. Department of Public Instruction with federal aid from the USDA, meal sites range from schools, playgrounds, libraries, to faith-based facilities. All eligible children can avail of meals free of cost, without needing registration or ID.
