NC Cousins Buying Back Their Brewery From Bud Light Parent Anheuser-Busch

Nathan Kelischek and Chris Zieber, co-founders of Appalachian Mountain Brewery, are about to reacquire their NC-based brewery from Bud Light’s parent company Anheuser-Busch.

The 2 founders first started their brewery in 2011 and later partnered with the Craft Brew Alliance, leading to an acquisition by Anheuser-Busch. By 2021, Appalachian Mountain Brewery’s beers were officially part of Anheuser-Busch’s craft beer selection.

Despite the changes in ownership Kelischek and Zieber remained actively engaged in the operational aspects of the brewery. They have now successfully negotiated a deal to buy back Appalachian Mountain Brewery from Anheuser-Busch.

The 2 will also be expanding their operations by opening a new tap room in Asheville.

They will continue to maintain their original location in Boone, North Carolina.

Details and pricing of the deal have not yet been released.
