NBA Legend Magic Johnson Throwing Opening Pitch For Gastonia Honey Hunter’s First Game

Tonight the Gastonia Honey Hunters will play their first regular season game in the newly minted $22 million FUSE District Stadium.

The city isn’t holding anything back to celebrate the long anticipated team and new stadium.

Gastonia Mayor Walker Reid has just proclaimed today Honey Hunters Day and announced that NBA legend Magic Johnson will be coming to town to throw out the first pitch.

For today’s opening game, the Gastonia Honey Hunters will be taking on the Lancaster Barnstormers starting at 6:50 p.m., with a massive fireworks show to finish.
