A massive fire has now engulfed a beloved diner in Concord, shutting down traffic around the area.
According to the Concord Fire Department, the fire began in the Concord Diner (corner of Central Drive and Concord Pkwy) at around 5 am this morning and quickly grew out of control. They received numerous calls from witnesses who saw flames come out of the roof of the building.

Police shut down US Hwy 29 southbound from NC Hwy 73 to Sherwood Court due to the fire.

The initial cause of the fire is still being investigated.
