This coming Friday, some of the best BBQ rivals in our state will be firing up their smokers for Mt. Pleasant’s annual Fall Festival and Polar Pig Cook-Off, with proceeds going to the Mt. Pleasant Food Ministry, Toys for tots and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Wristbands will cost $10 and will allow festival-goers to sample bbq from both the local backyard division as well as from the experts. Live music starts at 6 p.m. and will run until about 10 p.m.
On Saturday morning, vendors and entertainment will be getting started at 9 a.m., and the winners of the competition will be announced at 5 p.m.
The Mt. Pleasant and Northeast Cabarrus fire departments will also offer their own bbq for sale as well.
