Johnson C. Smith Offering Free Health Screenings During 14th Annual JCSU Health Fair

Dr. Robert Lindsey, associate professor of health education at Johnson C. Smith University will host his 14th Annual Health and Career Extravaganza Fair from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Brayboy Gymnasium, on the campus of JCSU, March 6, 2020.

“It is important to show the JCSU community—as well as the Charlotte community—that we are striving to enhance the health of our community,” Lindsey said.

According to JCSU’s Department of Health and Human Performance, the purpose of the Health/Career Fair is to increase awareness through education and prevention, as well as help those looking for opportunity, find a path for their career through graduate schools and companies offering employment.

Companies such as Nike, Wells Fargo, and Novant Health will be in attendance to recruit students and community members for jobs and internship opportunities. In addition, HIV, BP, BMI and A1C cholesterol testing will be offered free to anyone who attends, as well as body fat assessments.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to work out with fitness instructor Nettie Reeves, owner of ‘N’Shape with ‘N’ and ‘Nettie Reeves’FUNky Fit’ in Charlotte.
