After 17 years of Coca-Cola 600 races, Denny Hamlin just took home the top trophy for the first time in his career.
Hamlin’s first Coca-Cola 600 win will also go down in the history books as the longest NASCAR Cup Series race after it was extended twice in overtime.
The record-breaking 413-lap race took a total of 5 hours and 16 minutes and featured several major crashes, 18 cautions, and 31 total lead changes.

Immediately after the race, Hamlin posted a quick video about his first ever Coca-Cola 600 win, saying, “what a night, it’s fun to win the Coca-Cola 600, finally, 17 years I’ve been racing this race and I’ve finished 2nd 3 times, but to win it obviously is very special…”
