Johnson C. Smith University is taking top honors in a new poll. With more than 100 HBCUs nationwide, JCSU is ranked as one of the top 50 HBCUs across the nation, according to College Consensus list of Best HBCUs. According to the site, JCSU is also listed as:
- Top 5 HBCU in North Carolina
- Top 10 HBCU in the Carolinas
- Top ranked private HBCU in North Carolina
- Top 3 ranked private HBCU in the Carolinas
- One of only three institutions in the Carolinas recognized for providing its students free laptops or iPads
