In anticipation of crisper temperatures, Pike Nurseries will be offering free events and advice throughout September. Gardeners of all skill levels can reap the delicious rewards of planting cool season veggie gardens during a free class with the pros. Guests are also invited to celebrate the start of the season during the annual Grilling in the Garden event, while enjoying complimentary hot dogs and storewide savings. With fall weather just around the corner, there’s no better time to play in the dirt!
Growing Cool Season Veggies
Saturday, September 21 at 10 a.m.
In this beginner-level class, the experts at Pike Nurseries will teach the basics of starting a cool season veggie garden and what should be planted now for a bountiful fall harvest throughout the season. From backyard gardens to patio planters, there’s no limit on the space needed for green thumbs to enjoy the economical and delicious benefits of home-grown veggies.
Grilling in the Garden
Saturday, September 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
To celebrate the cooler weather to come, families can enjoy a complimentary soda and hot dog, grilled fresh on the Kamado Joe from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. (while supplies last). In addition, customers are invited to take advantage of all-day, storewide savings to stock up on flowers, shrubs, trees, soils, mulch, fertilizers and more to kick off the fall planting season.
