This week, Discovery Place was named Charlotte’s top museum and attraction for 2018 in the annual North Carolina Museums and Historic Attractions Survey.

With more than 745,600 visitors last year, Discovery Place ranked as the No. 1 Museum and Attraction for Charlotte and the fourth most visited across the state. Discovery Place is the only Charlotte institution to be listed among the top 25 most visited museums and attractions in North Carolina.

It marks the 15th time in as many years that Discovery Place has been among the top 5 most visited museums and attractions in the state.

“It is an honor to be recognized again as a top attraction in North Carolina and Charlotte,” said Discovery Place President & CEO Catherine Wilson Horne. “We pride ourselves on having a reputation as both a trusted educational resource and a top-rated museum in our state. We continue to focus on our mission of making science accessible to all, while also serving as a top destination for visitors and Charlotteans alike.”
