When you’re a free-roaming digital nomad, home is where you park it. With “van life” now becoming one the fastest growing trends for millennials, how do you decide where to put down even the shortest of roots?

Livability.com has just ranked the top “van live” cities in America based on climate, camping choices, overnight parking spots, free internet availability (coffee shops and libraries), big gyms with cheap memberships for travelers, and more.

The Queen City came out on top, beating out Lake Havasu City, AZ (#2), Salinas, CA (#3), Jacksonville, FL (#4), and Greeley, CO (#5).

According to the report, “Charlotte is an excellent place to call home, even if your home has wheels. Sitting between mountains and the beach, you can spend your summer weekends escaping the heat, or making full use of it. The rest of the year, explore all the city has to offer, from The NASCAR Hall of Fame to professional sports to the Gantt Center for African American Arts and Culture’s collections, exhibits and engaging events.”

Do you think Charlotte is the best place for digital drifters?
