The City of Charlotte has just signed its first ever major league soccer player.
25-year-old Sergio Ruiz is a midfielder and a captain for the international renown second division Spanish club, Racing de Santander.
“We are laying down the foundations of a competitive and winning team, and Ruiz is the ideal player to start with,” said Zoran Krneta, Charlotte MLS’s Sporting Director.
