The CDC just announced a new recall for over 66 tons of ground beef from Target, Sam’s Club, and Safeway due to a widespread E.coli contamination.
The USDA issued a list Monday of where the beef was sold, but says other stores not on the list may also have the meat. Retailers known to have received the beef include:
According to the CDC, “On September 19, 2018, Cargill Meat Solutions in Fort Morgan, Colorado recalled ground beef products that were produced and packaged on June 21, 2018 and were shipped to retailers nationwide. Products are labeled with the establishment number “EST. 86R” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The CDC now recommends that consumers throw away or return any meat listed above. Before consuming any questionable meet, be sure to test for E. Coli with at-home testing strips available here.
E.Coli can cause serious infection, producing severe stomach cramps, bloody diarrhea, a fever, and prolonged vomiting. Most people recover from symptoms within 5 to 7 days.
