Bomb Threat At Charlotte’s Epicenter Causes Evacuation

Yesterday a bomb threat was made at Uptown Charlotte’s Epicenter.

According to officials, a man made a loud disturbance and proclaimed that there was a bomb in his bag. Police quickly responded, found the bag, and evacuated the entire Epicenter as a precaution.

At about 3am yesterday morning, the CMPD Bomb Squad was called to the Epicenter to investigate the package;

After investigating the backpack, bomb squad technicians determined the bag was safe and opened the Epicenter back up to the public.

According to the CMPD, “The suspect in this case has been identified as Rayshon Javor Duncan, DOB: 10/14/1988. Duncan has been charged with Perpetrating a Hoax Device and Making a False Bomb Threat.”
