This afternoon a 3-alarm fire and a shooting took place on College Street in Uptown Charlotte.
The fire on College Street started at roughly 2:30pm in the kitchen of Roosters Restaurant and quickly spread into the duct work;

The shooting occurred about 1 block south of the fire in the Epicenter. According to police, a fight broke out between 2 individuals and one of the individuals pulled out a gun and shot at the other. An innocent bystander was hit by the shot and was then rushed to the hospital with life threatening injuries.
A suspect was arrested at about 6pm this evening;

After 65 Charlotte firefighters battled the Roosters fire for several hours, they were finally able to get it under control.

The fire and the shooting do not appear to be related.
