The Carolina Panthers just delivered a statement win, crushing longtime rival Atlanta 34-3 in a dominant NFC South showdown.
Carolina controlled Sunday’s game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium from the opening quarter. The victory gives the Panthers their first win of 2026.
Quarterback Bryce Young led the charge with one of his strongest performances against Atlanta. He completed 23 passes for 287 yards and three touchdowns.
Young connected with Chuba Hubbard for Carolina’s opening touchdown. He later found Darren Waller twice for scores.
Carolina’s defense made life miserable for Atlanta quarterback Cooper Rush.
The Panthers forced four turnovers while committing none themselves. Rush threw two interceptions and lost a fumble before Atlanta benched him.
Rookie Jack Strand then entered during the third quarter. His first NFL pass was deflected and returned for a Panthers touchdown.
That pick-six pushed Carolina’s advantage to 34-3 and effectively ended any hopes of an Atlanta comeback.
Tetairoa McMillan also delivered a big afternoon with 101 receiving yards. Jalen Coker added eight catches for 66 yards.
The performance marked a dramatic turnaround after Carolina’s wild 59-37 Week 1 loss against Chicago.
Carolina scored plenty in that opener but struggled defensively. This time, the Panthers dominated on both sides of the football.
The win also extends Carolina’s recent control over its division rival. The Panthers entered Sunday having won three straight against Atlanta.
Carolina now improves to 1-1, while the Falcons fall to 0-2.
The Panthers travel to Cleveland next Sunday looking to turn Sunday’s dominance into early-season momentum.
