Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will close all schools and offices on Monday, Jan. 26, as wintry weather moves across the region. The closure also cancels all school activities and programs, including Before-School Enrichment Programs and After-School Enrichment Programs.

CMS said it will not use a designated make-up instructional day from the 2025–26 calendar because Superintendent Dr. Crystal Hill has waived the requirement for that instructional day. The district said it made the decision after monitoring conditions and coordinating with local and state officials.

CMS added that it will keep tracking National Weather Service updates and will notify families if any additional schedule changes become necessary.
