The Carolina Panthers battled through adversity Sunday, defeating the New York Jets 13-6 in a defense-heavy matchup.

Despite starting their sixth offensive line in seven games and losing quarterback Bryce Young to an ankle injury, Carolina earned its third straight win and first road victory of the season.

Veteran Andy Dalton replaced Young in the third quarter and helped secure the win with a 33-yard completion to Xavier Legette late in the game. Legette shined with nine catches for 92 yards and the team’s only touchdown.

Carolina’s defense delivered its strongest performance of the year, forcing two interceptions by Jaycee Horn and recording six sacks, led by Derrick Brown’s dominant outing. Rookie returner Trevor Etienne also made a mark on special teams with several big returns.

The win moves the Panthers to 4-3, their best record this late in the season since 2019. Still, questions remain about head coach Dave Canales’ lineup decisions and the severity of Young’s injury as the team prepares to face Buffalo next week.
