Former York County Sheriff Kevin Tolson was arrested Monday in connection with a hit-and-run crash.
South Carolina Highway Patrol said the incident occurred on Airport Road in Rock Hill, where a vehicle struck both a telephone pole and a nearby fence before leaving the scene. Authorities later identified Tolson as the driver.
He was booked into the York County Detention Center on July 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. and released shortly afterward on a personal recognizance bond, according to the York County Sheriff’s Office.
