Charlotte FC was eliminated from the US Open Cup on Wednesday after a 3-3 draw and a 2-1 loss in a penalty shootout.

DC United’s Jordan Farr, making his debut, saved four of five penalties to seal the win.

The back-and-forth match featured goals from Patrick Agyemang, Bill Tuiloma, and Tyger Smalls for Charlotte.

DC United equalized twice, forcing extra time and eventually penalties.

Charlotte has now lost four straight matches and faces Columbus at home on Saturday.
