According to a press conference held this afternoon, police were first alerted to the situation after a family member of Michael Ogle drove to his house after he didn’t come to work.
The family member saw Emma Ogle holding a gun through the windows and immediately called the police.
Officers quickly worked to block off the area, put the elementary school across the street on lockdown, and sent in the SWAT unit.
When SWAT officers entered they home, they found Emma and Michael dead on the ground from gunshot wounds.
Emma was arrested on Halloween and charged with a sex act with a student, indecent liberties with a student, and a crime against nature. She was placed on paid leave from her Health Occupations teaching position at Garinger High School the day after her arrest and was released from police custody on $10,000 bail.
According to police, Ogle began her relationship with the 17-year-old student last spring and it turned sexual over the summer.
This is an ongoing investigation.
