68

You’re stressed and want to take a vacation but aren’t sure where to go. You also don’t want to plan a huge itinerary and schedule flights, rental cars, and hotel rooms. Doing all that research and planning even seems more like a chore than it does a vacation.

We have the solution.  Booking a cruise is a relaxing getaway where your biggest concern is buying the ticket and boarding the boat! Once you have stepped foot onto your new home for the next few days, you’ll have plenty of activities and amenities at your fingertips.  If you have never been on a cruise, you may be asking yourself, “What is there to do onboard?” The answer is: so many things!   There is something for everyone to enjoy on a cruise ship. Read below to find some of the most common attractions that ships  offer  passengers for fun..

  1. Arcade and Casino-

On the ship, you may hear the dreaded “I’m bored,” from your little ones. Fear not, most cruises have an arcade that is either dedicated to children specifically or open to  passengers of all ages. And because the ships are often in international waters, you can also head to the ship’s casino to do some gambling yourself.

2. Arts and Crafts-

The arts and crafts will vary from cruise line to cruise line, but ships usually have classes where you can participate in fun activities such as knitting, bracelet making, and scrap making. What could be better than bringing home a handmade souvenir from your voyage?

3. Bingo-

This classic game is available on nearly every cruise line. You will have to pay a fee to enter, but you’ll get the chance to win  fun cruise-related swag with some games even giving the opportunity to win actual cash.

4. Clubbing-

Everyone loves a classic pool party where the music is turned up and guests are enjoying  the music.  If this isn’t your style or you are looking to dance in a more sophisticated environment, most cruises have nightclubs that you can visit later at night to continue the fun.

5. Children’s Activities-

When we say there is something for everyone on cruise ships, we mean it. Cruises have dedicated activities that are child friendly such as princess or pirate makeovers, tea parties, and story times. Some cruise lines even offer kid clubs for older children to go and socialize.

6. Live Music-

Your voyage isn’t complete until you’ve sat back and relaxed with some live music. Live music can usually be found all throughout the cruise line most of the day and can range from jazz trios to rock n’ roll.

7. Pool-

While spending all your time admiring the open ocean, you may be tempted to jump in to cool off on a sweltering summer’s day. Instead, you can lounge by the pool with a unique cocktail in hand.

8. Spa Treatments-

Everyone deserves to be pampered once in a while. Most cruise ships offer spa treatments for unwinding and relaxing after a long day of soaking in the sun and partaking in the ship’s activities. Whether it be to sweat in the sauna or loosen up knots in your back, the cruise line’s spa treatment will have you feeling refreshed and ready to take on the evening’s festivities.

9. Wine Tasting-

Many cruises offer the chance for you and your group to venture to designated drinking spots to sample some delectable wines.

10. Dining-

What’s great about eating on board is that you have countless options. Instead of selecting one menu for the entire trip, you can explore the entire ship to see what different delicacies they have to offer. While you can reserve a finer restaurant for elegant dining for some meals, you can also indulge in a gourmet burger or a cheesy slice of pizza on the go.

Is Everything Free?

While most of what you encounter will be free on the ship, not everything is. Some things that you can expect to pay for are:

  • Alcohol Beverage packages
  • Late night room service (11pm-6am)
  • Games (Bingo, casino play, arcade games, ect.)
  • Spa/Salon treatments
  • Select fitness classes (Zumba, yoga, spinning)

Even though some activities require payment, you can also go the entire cruise without paying an additional cent and have a memorable vacation.

Scheduling a cruise is a no brainer when it comes to planning a vacation. Setting sail allows you to worry just about  getting yourself on the boat and then letting the staff take it from there. To get to your voyage with a minimum of stress, you can also schedule a service such as port of Los Angeles transportation to make sure you arrive safely and on time.

Once you have boarded, you can walk wherever you’d like, exploring the many marvels of  the ship. Take advantage of all the activities, dining, and entertainment that there are to offer without worrying about rush hour traffic, booking hotel rooms, or lost luggage. You will leave your cruise happy, and wishing that you had more time to experience everything on board!
