York County Opened Their First ‘Cat-Themed’ Winery

2068

cats paw winerySouth Carolina’s newest winery (and York Counties first and only) recently opened up on the outskirts of Rock Hill.

John Burks was inspired by his cat Joey to launch Cat’s Paw Winery where he makes each bottle in a true small batch craftsman style.

The winery features a wide selection of both red and white wine, along with an extensive tasting room and retails shop.

Burks trucks his hand-selected juices from several suppliers in the Carolinas. He flavors the wine using aged barrels and various types of oak. He doesn’t use any preservatives, so his wines have a limited shelf life and a truly unique taste.

Since January, Burks has already bottled over 100 gallons of wine.

You can find out more about visiting hours, public tours, and how to buy his wine on his website CatsPawWinery.com
