Being from Upstate NY, there’s one food staple that I hold above most others – chicken wings.
Throughout high school, one of my favorite weekly memories was meeting up with a few dozen friends in the basement of a local bar for 25 cent wings. I think my record was 4 dozen in one sitting.
After moving to Charlotte about 10 years ago, that tradition quickly faded. I’ve come to learn that southerners just don’t have the same passion for high-quantities of fried chicken morsels dripping with sugar and spices.
