With car sales up 9% in the first quarter of 2021, in part due to fear of public transportation during the COVID-19 pandemic, the personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2021’s Best & Worst Cities to Drive in.
The site compared the 100 most populated U.S. cities across four key dimensions, including; 1) Cost of Ownership & Maintenance, 2) Traffic & Infrastructure, 3) Safety and 4) Access to Vehicles & Maintenance. They used 30 different metrics to determine the score of each dimension.
North Carolina’s capitol state of Raleigh was determined to be the #1 best state to drive in, with Greensboro (#3) and Winston Salem (#4) ranking close behind. Charlotte was ranked #14 in the report.
