The now locally famous brewery in the Lake Norman area is now becoming internationally known. The D9 Brewing Company in Cornelius just won second and third place for two of its prized beers at the 19th Annual Great International Beer & Cider Competition.
The Competition took place in Providence, R.I. a couple weeks ago, where D9 Brewing received awards in the Sour/Wild Beers category, in which Viking Fraoch Scottish Sour placed second and Ezekiel 25:17 Black Sour placed third.
D9’s pumpkin ale was also recently ranked the sixth best pumpkin beers in America by Paste Magazine.
Paste Magazine conducted a blind tasting of pumpkin beers from breweries nationwide and released a list of the Top 20 Pumpkin Beers early last month. D9 Brewing’s Head of the Horseman Imperial Pumpkin was ranked sixth on the list.
NoDa Brewing Co., from Charlotte also made the list, ranking 18th for their Gordgeous Pumpkin Ale. The tasting included 45 pumpkin beer entries, which Paste narrowed down to 20 finalists for ranking. Professional beer writers, brewery owners, beer representatives, and other beer professionals made up the judging panel.
