While Mecklenburg County may still only be vaccinating people who fit into Groups 1-4, there are now 3 counties in North Carolina that have begun vaccinating all groups.
So, if you don’t fit into any of the first 4 groups, you’re at least 16 years old, and you’re willing to travel, you can now schedule your first COVID-19 vaccination.
Rockingham County (about 2 hours northeast of Charlotte) is allowing anyone from North Carolina who is at least 16 to now schedule a vaccine appointment on their website here.
According to a press release from Greene County (about 3 hours east of Charlotte), “if you would like to receive the vaccine, call and schedule your appointment (747-8181, 747-8182, and 747-8183)”
Craven County (about 4 hours east of Charlotte) is also letting any North Carolina resident 18 years or older schedule a vaccine through their website here.
