The Concord-Padgett Regional Airport just had their best year in history.

The Charlotte region’s second largest airport saw an increase of 21% from the previous year with a total of 145,510 passengers for 2018, according to their press release. They saw a total of 990 departures per week, averaging 19 per week flying to destinations throughout the southeast, including Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa, The Emerald Coast, and New Orleans.

“We work hard with our airline and regulatory partners to provide a safe, convenient, affordable, and efficient passenger experience,” said Concord Aviation Director Dirk Vanderleest. “Our success has resulted in increased service frequency and has the potential to bring more destinations in the future.”

Plans are underway to strengthen airport taxiways to handle even more flights in 2019.
