Any SNL fans out there?
This past weekend’s show featured a ‘Weekend Update’ skit with Kenan Thompson playing LaMelo Ball’s dad – LaVar Ball, wearing his trademark Big Baller Brand logo. In the skit, Thompson talked about LaMelo’s record-breaking season with “the most storied franchise in all of basketball, the Charlotte Hornets”.
Thompson also refers to Charlotte as “the regional banking capital of the world” and as “the gateway to Gastonia”.
After telling the audience his son will get all the awards, he adds, “after he wins he’s gonna unite North and South Carolina into a super Carolina, called Carolossas – monster of the south, second cousin to Mothra, never lost to Godzilla…”
