Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), a California-based VC and tech-focused bank, just announced plans to move to Charlotte.

According to a newly filed building permit, SVB will spend roughly $7 million on their new East Coast regional center at The Line – a 16-story tower in the heart of South End.

SVB Securities, the bank’s investment banking division, moved into the building last month. They currently have several open positions in Charlotte, including analyst, risk, and loan servicing positions.

Silicon Valley Bank was established in 1983 with a focus on tech startups, technology, and healthcare companies. Since then, the bank has worked with companies like ZipRecruiter, Wayfair, and Pinterest, and boasts assets totaling $213 billion. SVB has offices throughout the US, as well as offices in India, China, and Denmark.
