Rock Hill Residents Urged to Boil Water After E. Coli Outbreak

rock hill e coliDHEC just announced that a sample of water taken from the Midnight Circle in Rock Hill tested positive for E. coli.

Residents in the York County mobile home park and the surround area are now being urged to boil their water before consuming it.

A sample of water taken recently during routine sampling on Midnight Circle in Rock Hill tested positive for E. coli, DHEC spokesman Jim Beasley said. South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control representatives are now distributing boil-water notices to homes throughout the region.

No illnesses have yet been reported.

DHEC investigators have just collected a follow-up sample and are now awaiting results. Residents can also test their own water for E Coli at home using these kits.

The boil-water advisory will remain in effect until investigators obtain clean samples.
