The team at Apartment List just published their June Rent Report, complete with median rent and price growth data through May 2022.
Some highlights for the Charlotte region include:
Rents in Charlotte increased 1.5% month-over-month in May, compared to a 1.2% increase nationally. Month-over-month growth in Charlotte ranks #38 among the nation’s 100 largest cities.
Year-over-year rent growth in Charlotte currently stands at 17.2%, compared to 7.4% at this time last year. Year-over-year growth in Charlotte ranks #37 among the nation’s 100 largest cities. Rents in Charlotte are up by 22.7% since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
Median rents in Charlotte currently stand at $1304 for a 1-bedroom apartment and $1428 for a two-bedroom.
Rents nationwide are now on pace to surpass a 5% increase for 2022:
