Pentagon Sending 750 North Carolina Paratroopers To Baghdad To Fight Militia Uprising

Early this morning the US Pentagon announced that 750 soldiers from North Carolina would be sent to the US Embassy in Iraq in an attempt to quell a rising conflict involving an Iran-backed Shiite militia.

Today’s troops are being sent in addition to the 100 marines and 2 Apache helicopters that were sent over yesterday.

The Pentagon also ordered 4,000 additional paratroopers from several different divisions to be prepare for a possible deployment in the coming days.
