According to the National Rifle Association, the Foothills Public Shooting Complex (just west of Charlotte) is now the largest shooting range in the Southeast, and one of the largest in America.
The entire complex includes three 50-yard pistol ranges, two skeet/trap and pistol ranges, a 250-yard rifle range, a 3-D archery range, training classrooms, armory, visitors center, and gift shop.
The $3.5-million project was built through a partnership between Cleveland County (providing 82 acres of land), and the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission (providing $1.9 million in public funding).
