NCDOT Spending $7.2 Million To Build Carolinas First “Continuous Flow Intersection” in Charlotte

Charlotte is about to have North Carolina’s first and one of America’s only “continuous flow intersections”.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) just approved a $7.2 million contract to implement the new design in Northwest Charlotte on highway 16.

The following video shows how the traffic pattern will change once the new intersection becomes operational;

The new traffic pattern will be built at the current intersection of Brookshire Blvd. and Mount Holly-Huntersville Rd.;
