Severe thunderstorms swept through the Charlotte region last night, leaving Hundreds of people without power as lightning, strong winds, and hail knocked down power lines and blew several transformers.
According to Duke Energy, there were over 750 people in Mecklenburg County, 317 in Cabarrus County, and 208 in Gaston County who were still without power as of 6 a.m. this morning.
