Disney Is About To Close Their 2 Charlotte-Area Stores – The Last Remaining Locations in NC

3018

2 Charlotte-area Disney stores will be closing next month, one in Concord Mills, and one in the SouthPark Mall. With Raleigh’s Disney store now closed, next month’s Charlotte-area closings will mark Disney’s official exit from the state of North Carolina.

In an interview with USA Today, Disney said they are now expecting to close a total of 60 stores across the United States this year.

The company said they were reducing the number of physical stores to focus more on their online retail business.

“While consumer behavior has shifted toward online shopping, the global pandemic has changed what consumers expect from a retailer,” said Stephanie Young, Disney’s president of consumer products. “We now plan to create a more flexible, interconnected e-commerce experience that gives consumers easy access to unique, high-quality products across all our franchises.”

What do you think about the Charlotte-area closings?
