CMPD Asking For Information Related To Murder Case

CMPD is now asking for information from the public about an ongoing murder case.

According to a press release, on Oct. 12th, officers were called out the Fairwood Avenue regarding an ‘assault with a deadly weapon’. When they arrived, they found Strothers Jr. with a gunshot wound and Medic transported him to Atrium Main. 2 days later, he was pronounced deceased.

On Nov. 2nd, they identified and interviewed 18-year-old Dametrius Hilliard as a primary suspect. They then charged him with Murder, Attempted Murder, Assault with a Deadly Weapon Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury, and three counts of Shooting into Occupied Dwelling.

Yesterday, they identified and interviewed 19-year-old Taizojh Smith as a second suspect and also charged him with Murder, Attempted Murder, Assault with a Deadly Weapon Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury, and three counts of Shooting into Occupied Dwelling.
