Charlotte’s Go Jen Go Kicks Off Annual Breast Cancer Patient Christmas Campaign

111

Help spread some joy with Go Jen Go to breast cancer patients and their families in the greater Charlotte area this holiday season.

“Each year, we reach out to families who have received financial support throughout the year to see if we can help make their holidays a little brighter by providing gifts and gift cards for their families through our program, Operation Spread the Joy,” said Susan Sears, executive director of Go Jen Go. “This is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together to spread some joy to our breast cancer community.”

Go Jen Go’s Operation Spread the Joy campaign is underway, whereby the community can purchase gifts and gift cards for breast cancer patients and their families. Individuals and businesses can commit to purchasing as little as one gift or up to an entire family’s gifts.

Go Jen Go will have two gift drop-off-days:

  • Tuesday, Dec. 12 | 11.a.m. – 1 p.m. | Novant Health Matthews Medical Center | 1500 Matthews Township Parkway, Matthews
  • Sunday, Dec. 17 | 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. | Open Tap | 5010 Carmel Center Drive, Charlotte

Arrangements can also be made for gifts to be mailed to Go Jen Go or picked up. Volunteers are also needed to help with gift wrapping on Dec. 12 and Dec. 17. This year’s Operation Spread the Joy is sponsored by Novant Health, Charlotte Radiology, TrinityPoint Wealth and Smiley’s 4 C’s Charitable Endowment. For more information about the program, donating items and volunteering, visit https://gojengo.org/operation-spread-the-joy/.

Go Jen Go Foundation provides over $240,000 in support each year to women and men facing the financial burden of breast cancer in the greater Charlotte area. Added Sears, “We offer financial assistance so that patients can focus on their fight, and not worry whether they can pay rent, put gas in their car to get to treatments, or buy gifts for their families at Christmas.”
