One of Charlotte’s largest water mains ruptured yesterday, causing low to no water pressure in tens of thousands of Charlotte homes.
The break occurred off Remount Road yesterday evening evening at around 5pm. The main serviced several zip codes, including the areas north to Brookshire Boulevard and I-85, east to WT Harris Boulevard and Monroe Road, west to the Catawba River, and south to the SC state line.
The City of Charlotte has issued a boil water advisory until tomorrow (according to Charlotte Water, “if you did not experience a loss of pressure or water, your water is safe to drink”).
