Charlotte Rescue Mission Is Planning On Feeding Over 500 Families For Thanksgiving

charlotte-rescue-misssionThe Charlotte Rescue Mission is now planning on feeding over 500 needy families in the Charlotte region.

“Providing a Thanksgiving Food Box for a family in need is a great way to show dignity and respect to our most fragile neighbors” says Rev. Tony Marciano.

They will be able to give a fully cooked turkey to each family, but they are asking the city of Charlotte to help out with the trimmings.

The Rescue Mission is asking for Thanksgiving boxes that include each on of the following:

A food box (16 ½” long x 13” wide x 12 ¼ high – 27 quart)** containing:
Green beans – 38 ounce can
Whole kernel corn – 29 ounce can
Cut sweet yams – 40 ounce can
Cranberry sauce – 14 ounce can
Stove Top stuffing – 6 ounce box
Dinner rolls – 1 package of 12 pre-baked rolls
Spice Cake Mix – 1 Box
Pumpkin Puree (not pie filling) – 15 ounce can
Aluminum Baking Pan for Cake – 9 x 13

They are asking people to drop their boxes off at the Charlotte Rescue Mission, located at Cedar and West First Street, diagonally opposite the Panther Practice Fields on Friday, November 18th or Sunday, November 20th from 11am-4pm.
