Last night, Jeremy Chinn, safety for the Carolina Panthers, launched his Jeremy Chinn Foundation at an event at St. Johns Baptist Church in Charlotte, where he helped distribute coats to families served by Charlotte Family Housing.

162 participants received coats and social workers will continue to distribute an additional 140 coats this week to families who could not attend due to work schedules, for a total of around 300 coats going to families in need.

The initiative is thanks to a $12,000 donation from UnitedHealthcare to the Jeremy Chinn Foundation, which provides homeless families and individuals with support they need to build a positive future. The partnership is part of UnitedHealthcare’s ongoing commitment to address social determinants of health, through additional resources to families in need of extra help as they transition from homelessness to housing.
