The Charlotte Douglas Airport has just started a highly anticipated direct flight to the magical land of Hawaii.
The first official direct flight took off yesterday morning at 11:40am from Gate A4 on American Airlines flight number 569.
Everyone who took the trip received a complimentary lei upon arrival.

American Airlines is currently the largest carrier at the Charlotte Douglas Airport – about 90% of the flights coming out of our airport (about 600 daily departures) are controlled by this one company. Charlotte Douglas is American’s second-largest hub – they employ over 11,000 people here.
