The Charlotte Eagles Are About To Host The National Championship Game This Weekend

The Charlotte Eagles just defeated the Mississippi Brilla F.C. by a score of 3-1 in the PDL Semi-Final game, advancing them to the 2017 PDL National Championships, and securing home-turf advantage in the Queen City.

This past Saturday’s semi-final game was also hosted at the Eagle’s new Sportsplex field off Pineville Matthews Road.

Mississippi fought hard for the first half to keep the score at 2-1. They had the chance to tie in the second half after earning a penalty kick, but goalie James Pyle blocked the kick to keep the Eagles up. A few minutes later, midfielder Ryan Williams buried one in the back of the net to secure the Eagles’ 3-1 victory.

The Charlotte Eagles will now host the 2017 PDL National Championship game against the Thunder Bay Chill on Saturday, August 5th, starting at 3:00 PM. The game is scheduled to stream live on ESPN 3 and ESPN.com.

The Premier Development League (PDL) is comprised of a total of 72 franchise teams in four conferences throughout the United States and Canada, including 19 clubs that are owned by or partnered with a professional MLS club.
