Charlotte is about to see a major storm system blow through our area tomorrow that could produce extremely damaging winds and even tornados.
Today, we’ll start the week with low clouds and patchy fog before giving way to plenty of sunshine. Highs will reach the lower 90s, while heat index values climb into the upper 90s. Rain chances remain very low, according to the National Weather Service.
Tomorrow will be hotter, with temperatures reaching the mid-90s and feels-like readings approaching 100 degrees before storms develop.
Strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to develop starting in the afternoon. Damaging winds and hail as large as golf balls could be the biggest threats.

How severe the storms become will depend on morning conditions. More sunshine would increase the risk, while lingering clouds and showers could limit storm development.
After Tuesday, drier weather, lower humidity and near-normal temperatures are expected for the rest of the week.
