Charlotte-area Pet Supermarket stores will be joining others around the country to take part in the largest pet adoption event in the company’s history.

From May 10-23, 2021, Pet Supermarket’s “Lend A Paw” fundraiser and adoption awareness campaign will launch storewide with numerous opportunities for customers to support animal shelters and rescues in their communities including an adoption event on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at all 6 Pet Supermarket locations around Charlotte.

Throughout the campaign, customers will be able to support their local shelters and rescues by:

  • purchasing a $5 limited-edition bandana (with 100% of the proceeds donated to local shelters),
  • donating unused canned and dry food in stores,
  • making a monetary donation of any amount at checkout
  • adopting a pet on-site at their local Pet Supermarket on May 22.

Pet Supermarket customers will also be able to receive a free dog wash and 25% off their first grooming service with proof of adoption of their pets.

In addition to offering specials for grooming services to their customers, Pet Supermarket’s expert groomers will be visiting local animal shelters and rescues to offer free pampering, trims, and nail services to pets currently living in shelters in hopes of making them look and feel adoption-ready for the adoption event on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at all Pet Supermarket stores. Each store will be partnering with local shelters and rescues for the largest coordinated adoption event in company history.

“We are very excited to be partnering with so many great local rescues and shelters to highlight the amazing adoptable pets in each Pet Supermarket community. We know how much joy a pet can bring to our lives and as an organization, we’re committed to partnering with rescues in your local communities to help pets find their forever homes,” said Pet Supermarket manager Jonathan Rodriguez.

In previous years, Pet Supermarket’s community-based fundraising efforts during Pet Appreciation Month, now the “Lend A Paw” campaign, helped to donate more than $164,000 to local animal rescues and shelters. For more information about Pet Supermarket, visit petsupermarket.com
