Charlotte baseball fans rejoice – the UNCC 49ers are heading to the NCAA Tournament this year!
They’ll be playing against Tennessee in the first-round match this coming Friday at 6 pm.
The tournament field at Clemson also includes the host Tigers and Lipscomb. North Carolina will be represented with 8 total schools, including the 49ers, Wake Forest, North Carolina, N.C. State, Duke, East Carolina, UNC Wilmington, and Campbell.

Charlotte, currently holding the No. 3 seed at Clemson, earned their tournament qualification by winning the Conference USA tournament last week.

The upcoming NCAA tournament will mark the 7th time 49er baseball has competed in the NCAA baseball tournament and the second under Coach Woodward.
